Metal-Organic Frameworks as Emerging Platforms for Agrochemical Enhancement

We’re excited to share the recording of the first MOFspace Webinar of Season 2, held on 11 September 2026!

In this webinar, Dr. Sara Rojas Macías from the University of Granada explored how metal–organic frameworks can serve as emerging platforms for agrochemical enhancement and contribute to more efficient and environmentally friendly agricultural practices.

The talk highlighted how MOFs can:

• Incorporate organic agrochemicals directly as linkers in framework synthesis
• Improve the delivery and performance of agrochemical compounds
• Contribute to reducing the environmental impact associated with conventional agricultural treatments
• Open new possibilities for improving crop productivity through advanced materials design

Through selected examples, Dr. Rojas demonstrated how MOF chemistry can be applied to address current challenges in agriculture and support the development of more sustainable agrochemical strategies.
