Successfully Completed STSM: Theresa Bloehs’ Research Project
Sydney, January 2025
Theresa Bloehs has successfully completed her STSM project with the group of Dr. Lauren Macreadie at UNSW in Sydney, where she addressed crucial reproducibility challenges in multicomponent MOFs synthesis. Small factors such as reagent purity, molar ratios, and atmospheric conditions can greatly affect the outcome of MOF synthesis. Through her collaboration with experts and refinement of synthesis protocols, Theresa has contributed to enhancing reproducibility and developing more standardized practices.
During her STSM, Theresa visited the Australian Synchrotron in Melbourne and presented her master’s thesis at the Supramol25 conference in Canberra, gaining valuable insights for her research.
Exciting times ahead for Theresa as she prepares to start her PhD in April under the supervision of Dr. Romy L. Ettlinger!
