Nobel Week 2025: Celebrating Chemistry, MOFs & Scientific Excellence

6-12 December 2025, Stockholm, Sweden

Nobel Week 2025 is currently taking place in Stockholm and Oslo, bringing together leading scientists, innovators, and global decision-makers to celebrate outstanding achievements in research and discovery.

In the lead-up to the award ceremony, the 2025 Nobel Prize Lectures have provided remarkable insights into the history and scientific breakthroughs underlying this year’s prize-awarded work. A highlight of the programme was the 2025 Nobel Prize Lecture in Chemistry, delivered by Susumu Kitagawa, Richard Robson, and Omar M. Yaghi, offering a comprehensive perspective on the development and impact of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs).

We are pleased to share that Stefan Wuttke, Vice Chair of our COST Action, attended the Nobel Prize lectures and actively engaged in scientific discussions, representing our research community at this exceptional international event.

In parallel, Romy L. Ettlinger, Action Vice Chair, participated in the Commemorative Symposium “A Celebration of MOFs and the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2025”, where the scientific impact and future directions of MOF research were highlighted.

On 10 December, the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony will take place, during which Omar M. Yaghi will be officially awarded the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, alongside his fellow laureates. The ceremony will be streamed live by the Nobel Prize organization:
